But Sir, why TELL ME WHY are we still living in a slum?
Budget 2011 will see an allocation of RM65 million to upgrade the PM's residence, while rakyat continue to suffer....
Another tall tower worth RM5 billion, when we continue to live in a slum-like environment, despite all the privatisation and increase in the number of civil servants....
How can we still be living in a slum when the nation has enjoyed good economic growth since its Independence since 1957?
For 53 years, the country has been administered by the BN. Rich in petroleum and all the natural resources, where has all the wealth of this nation gone to?
It takes a foreigner like Barry Wain to open the eyes of Malaysians. Wain's book, "The Malaysian Maverick" reveals how much money has been burnt on mega projects undertaken by a former prime minister (not worth even to mention his name).
Even an Umno member of parliament, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah himself said that the oil wealth of this nation has indeed become a curse to the nation.
Look at the condition of our roads, street lights and other public amenities. Why is there no budget to repair these basic public infrastructure to ensure that we are on par with other countries like Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, not to mention countries like Australia, UK or the US.
What has Tun Dr Mahathir achieved in his 22 years in power? A son who is one of the richest men in this country and a son who became a deputy minister while his boss, Khairy Jamaluddin himself has no official position in the government.
Now, I wonder what Najib will do to solve the woes of the people, when a few simple complaints that I raised to his najib@pmo.gov.my email have not been attended to AT ALL! What the heck his shouting, "Rakyat diutamakan"!
Are these the people our 1.2 million civil servants are serving, instead of the rakyat? Civil servants are supposed to be serving the rakyat instead of their political masters. It's time that we see improvement in our living conditions if we are talking about being a developed nation by 2020. It's no wonder that someone like Mr Lee Kuan Yew should call us a "failed state."
While some cronies are enjoying big mansions, most of us - Bumiputra and non-Bumiputra -- have to be on the constant look out for potholes. With 1.22 million civil servants, we are still nowhere close to what Singapore has become in the same period of time.
53 years Malaysia under the BN rule, this is what we still see!
