FED UP WITH NAJIB, AND GANG!

I will be persistent to remind them if they continue to show their indifference towards the complaints raised regarding defiant restaurant operators at Jalan Wangsa 2/6 who continue to hijack parking lots. I am already fed up that Najib and gang are not what his slogan said, "Rakyat diutamakan." I will continue to use my persistence to solve an issue raised by a neighbour over a year ago. In fact, this blog started because of this unresolved complaint to show how people are fed up with Najib and his empty slogans.

Masih tiada tindakan lagi! KENAPA????!

How many more reminders before you get your civil servants to solve the issue raised regarding Jalan Wangsa 2/6 (2 months ago, Datuk Dr Tam came down to video the whole area but no actions taken to solve the issue) and the badly clogged public drain along Jalan Kepong, below the KTM bridge? Is this section of Jalan Kepong under the jurisdiction of DBKL or JKR or MPS?

The complaints regarding Jalan Wangsa 2/6 have yet to be resolved. The tables, chairs and hawker stalls are still encroaching on public car parks. What are you doing about it? Rakyat diutamakan, Dato’ Seri? You are talking rubbish, if issues like this raised to your attention cannot be solved after so many reminders.

Tell me who are the people who keep harping on racial issues and make racist statements that anger the people? It’s the STUPID POLITICIANS in this country, who cannot solve issues affecting the rakyat, that are getting to the nerves of the people! Chinese or Indians who not give a hoot whether a non-Muslim enters into a mosque on invitation or a politician-sponsored man throwing a wild boar’s head wrapped with plastics and thrown into the mosques. We only sit on the fence and feel so sorry for people who are so desperate to use all sorts of dirty tactics to win a vote. We will angry when we see corrupted politicians spend the rakyat’s money in the millions and the billions to maintain their own residences or live in big mansions, when the ordinary Malay friends of ours living in Segambut Dalam or Bukit Angkasa (all within the FEDERAL TERRITORY) living in a slum, and the slum road (no difference, and no thanks to DBKL and the BN Government of 53 years) runs through the posh neighbourhood of Mont Kiara and later around the Merdeka Tower. STOP all the politicking and solve the issues like this, Dato’ Sri! If you want to defend Putrajaya with your flesh and blood (by the way, there is the harakiri), you have to shake up the entire 1.22 million civil servants to let them know they have to perform, otherwise, the dead wood shall be removed. Right now, there is nothing but an archaic mechanism to remove people who are underperforming or not performing. No thanks to your predecessor, the government that you and Pak Lah have inherited, is nothing but a bunch of corrupted officials who are weak enforcement officers but on the take, that they cannot even solve an issue like this or even the complaint raised by a friend in Bukit Angkasa through your Murugiah. If you cannot perform, I think ANWAR should be the next PM, ending the R.A.H.M.A.N. I am getting all my friends in this housing estate who have grievances against the eateries to vote for PAS, a much more moderate party where people like Khalid Samad talk sense. Your “Khalid Samad” in Umno (in Johor) who talks his mind is already muted, what you have are a bunch of shameless politicians who continue to ire the people’s sentiments. I have noticed for example that when your government wants to arrest a small fly like Namewee, his popularity immediately hit the roof. Like I have always said, harass one person, you turn 100 people against you; arrest someone, you turn 1000 people against you. Listen to people like me, who rather tell you off than to someone who talks great of you, but eventually backstab on you. That old hat is up to his mischiefs again.

The sign of the collapse of any government is the way its leaders show indifference towards the rakyat. No amount of sweet talking during the coming will win the people’s heart. I, for one, will donate one week of my time to get people to vote PAS – because here is a good example, where the complaint to the people at the top has indeed fallen on deaf ears.

For people bcc here, please forward this email to all your friends. I am fed up with email reminders like this that reach the PM’s office, but no action has been taken to solve the issue and clean up the drains. What happened to our civil servants employed by the PSD? What happen to our PCB? They appear to be ineffective in solving issues like this. Rakyat diutamakan? My foot! I will only believe this when our roads are well-maintained, streetlights are repaired, and other basic infrastructure is being put in place. What the heck has the BN been doing over the past 53 years!

If Najib turns up at Wangsa Permai for the coming election and talk about Rakyat Diutamakan, I think he will get a pair of slippers on his mouth.

One over month, and this problem in Jalan Wangsa 2/6 cannot be solved.

The streetlights in Jalan Kepong under DBKL and being looked into by 15 civil servants, including two most senior officers, have yet to be repaired after nearly 4 weeks, too!

Nothing. How much can my neighbours pay me?

My modus operandi is simple. My motive is to see improvement to the living conditions of all Malaysians.

I don’t need to get anything.

I don’t need any votes.

However, I have TWO VOTES and many more in my circle of influence – in fact, thousands.

When someone complains to me, I ask them to directly complain to the respective department.

If they do it, after a certain period of time, if that thing is still not done, the Justice Bao in me drives me to pursue the matter all the way to the top. If nothing still happens, there are only two things that I will do:

(a) Be Persistent until the matter is solved

(b) My cynicism grows. I just use this example to influence many others

Zai Chien, Goodbye. (I am not committing suicide. Neither will I strangle myself). I will send you reminders from time to time – until the matter is solved.

Dato’ Dr Tam and KSN, you were copied regarding the 15 people to look into one complaint about no streetlighting. More than three weeks have passed, and the “ownership” of the streetlights has been identified to DBKL. Is DBKL also part of the Selangor State Government? What, in your opinion, should be done? Should you instruct DBKL not to fix the streetlights just because I am perceived as an Opposition member, and no longer a BN supporter? STUPID! If this is the mindset of our top civil servants, what transformation are we still talking about? If the top does not change in its attitude and mindset, how would the downline be transformed?

So, I am not the only one who is complaining. After a lot of repeated reminders, perhaps, this email should be given to Pakatan to use during the coming General Election. Rakyat diutamakan, pencapaian dihulukan.

Cut the red tape, Najib — Dr Tan Seng Giaw

September 12, 2010

SEPT 12 — After the Aidilfitri celebrations, we are back to work. (Prime Minister Datuk Seri) Najib (Razak) prattles on the New Economic Model (NEM) instead of the New Economic Policy (NEP).

He Insists that the aim of NEM is to develop a more equitable society towards long-term stability.

“Affirmative action should be fairer, more transparent and market-friendly.”

“If we don’t make changes, if we don’t reform, Malaysia will slide backwards. We are convinced about that. We will lose our competitive edge. We are doing all these because we are committed to Vision 2020,” Najib added.

While Najib talks about having no less emphasis on drive against corruption, Government Transformation Programme and National Key Result Areas, he should really look into the red-tape and bureaucracy among the 1.22 million civil servants.

This is an important problem that affects Malaysia’s competitiveness. One indicator is to look at the efficiency of our major ports.

As we are waiting for more effective action agianst those people who were truly involved in the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal, we notice that it takes four to five days for containers to be cleared in Port Klang. It is about one week at Tanjung Pelepas.

If a container ship docks at Singapore Port in the morning, the containers can leave the port within 24 hours.

Najib should check the actual time needed to clear containers at our major ports.

I can understand now why most people rather believe in RPK than Najib because the former is serious with his allegations, but the latter can’t care less about complaints from a member of the public. Not even a word to his men to get things solve the complaint.

Those bcc here, take note that emails will keep being sent for a year if this matter is not solved in a year’s time.

I don’t believe the restaurant operators can be openly defiant without people within MPS working in cohort with them. These are the Little Napoleons

Your silence appears to be condoning their behaviours.

For the people bcc here, this is where my persistent is leading to.

I will continue to send reminders for another 12 months.
Perhaps, when a new Prime Minister takes over, things will improve.

For the time being, be patient.

I read this in The Star yesterday and not sure whether to laugh or be angry with the way our civil servants carry out their job:

http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file=/2010/8/31/central/6941430&sec=central

This is the result of 53 years of poor management. I am sure it did not happen overnight.

Tan Sri KSN and Dato’ Dr Tam (with cc to the PM),

Ask yourself this question at the top, when you read different reports from the local council staff.

(a) Why are the hawkers still “defying”? Is it because they are stubborn or because someone is working in cohort with them? This problem started over a year ago, and complaints have been raised since then. Why were there no actions?

(b) How was the reporter from The Star tipped off about this? And why?

(c) How is it possible for a restaurant operator to continue to defy the authorities and put up new tables and chairs every time these items are confiscated by the authorities? How did they get these second hand chairs and tables? (This looks like part of their operating cost for the month).

(d) MPS’ reply to the BPA earlier and I quote below, what does that imply? Do you accept such an answer as “action has been taken”? I can’t help but look down at my foot and see my toes laughing. Either MPS does not know where to focus or they simply do something to appease their superiors. Like our Government, they go after the wrong people while letting go the real culprits. Please analyse and see what I have been trying to say.

From Mohd Zin of MPS:

Untuk makluman tuan, tindakan oleh Jabatan Penguatkuasa dan Keselamatan MPS ke atas perkara tersebut dari bulan April hingga Julai 2010 adalah seperti berikut:

  1. Operasi sitaan ke atas kerusi meja atas parking sebanyak 4 kali.
  2. Kompaun atas kesalahan menjaja tanpa lesen – 2
  3. Kompaun atas kesalahan meletak gerai di luar premis – 1
  4. Letak kereta di zon tunda – 20
  5. Letak kereta di garisan kuning – 11
  6. Letak kereta di atas bahu jalan – 67

How to solve this issue?

Give MPS enforcement staff an ultimatum of 10 working days and you don’t want to see any more hawker stalls, chairs and tables on the limited parking lots, EXCEPT the number that is approved by the council. Instruct the Licensing Department to step up its checks on the other areas under its jurisdiction. Example one restaurant in TamanEhsan Jaya Industrial Park with at least 50 tables and chairs outside. We are not making noise about this because the area is isolated, but when cars make a U-turn at the junction, an accident is waiting to happen here. AS USUAL --- wait, till it happen, then start pointing fingers at one another.

Have a good day.

Dato Dr Tam and Tan Sri Mohd Sidek,

As top civil servants in this country, are you saying that you believe the statistics given by Azmi Ismail (MPS Enforcement Director) is the solution to the main issue here?

What are the main issues that complaints have been raised time and again? Instead of addressing the issue, the statistics here clearly show that a different set of actions were taken by MPS.

Why do I say, PM’s slogan, “People and Performance First” is nothing but an empty slogan? Here is the evidence.

Dato’ Dr Tam,

Politics aside, I am not interested in politics.

Now, tell me from your own conscience, do you believe Azmi Ismail?

Best regards
Stephen

The press used to investigate into a complaint and able to solve a lot of problems, but what's happening these days? I am familiar with Jalan Wangsa 2/6.

(1) The issue primary issue is not about hawkers operating without a license or cars are parked on both sides of the road. The primary issue is about two restaurants putting their tables, chairs and hawker stalls on both sides of the road, causing a traffic congestion and double parking in the area. Besides that, the drains are dirty.

(2) For over one year, the matter has been raised by the local councillor with the civil servants at Selayang Municipal Council, in particular the Licensing Department and the Enforcement Directorate.

(3) Instead of solving the real issue, the director of enforcement apparently tries to mislead both the Public Complaints Bureau (http://malaysianwatchdog.blogspot.com/2010/08/civil-servants-civil-servants-where-is.html) and the public, with his explanation. The chief of Public Complaints Bureau himself had checked out the situation, but can he believe the explanation given by Azmi Ibrahim to the Malay Mail? I beg to differ, and here are my points:

(a) Why weren't the real culprit, i.e. the two restauranteurs taken to task for causing a problem to the area? Whenever I go to the grocery shops there to pick up my groceries, they tell me that things have gotten worse.

(b) How many tables were given the permit to be placed in the parking lots compared to what are being placed there? Were the hawker stalls also allowed to operate from the roadside? My contention is that this service lane is already very narrow, with parking lots drawn up for both sides of the lane, and when you have tables and chairs on one side of the lane, and hawker stalls taking up parking lots on the other side of the lane, shoppers are left with no choice but to double park.

(c) During Ops Saman, "none of the offences were committed"? Yeah, so what? The problem persists, so where is the effectiveness of our civil servants? This question was posed to the Chief Secretary to the Government, being the head of the civil service in this country and till now, there is no answer and definitely no solution. There goes the empty slogan, "People first, performance....."

(d) Azmi can mislead the press with his explanation about Jalan Wangsa 2/6, similar with the dumbest politicians in our country who can talk nonsense without blinking an eye. Let me ask you a question: a service lane, with parking lots on both sides of the lane, how could it ever be a two-way street? I have never seen any cars going the opposite directions.

Now, the question is whether the Chief of Public Complaints Bureau would believe Azmi Ismail, since he had personally visited the site to see for himself the situation. In fact, he was the one who observed that a car wash operator was doing his business just near to the restaurant.

We have some of the funniest people in our civil service, don't we, Tan Sri Mohd Sidek?

HAWKER WOES AT TAMAN WANGSA PERMAI

Selayang Municipal Council has taken action

PETER of Taman Wangsa Permai, Selayang, says he and fellow residents in Jalan Wangsa 2/6 are upset with the hawkers and restaurant owners who haphazardly place tables and chairs along the road, making access to their homes difficult.

"Due to their customers parking on both sides of the road, what is a two-lane stretch, has become a single lane. This has been going on for over a year," he says.

"The parking situation is made worse by residents from nearby Ixora Condominium who also leave their vehicles here."

PETER says he complained several times to the Selayang Municipal Council. "This problem is a serious matter for us residents and the council has not taken any action."

Selayang Municipal Council enforcement and security director Azmi Ismail says: "On Aug 12, we conducted Ops Saman and compounded 42 cars parked on both sides of the road while one hawker was fined RM1,000 for conducting business without a licence.

"Hawkers and restaurant owners are allowed to place tables and chairs on the parking lots from 6pm to midnight daily. An offence is committed if they place them outside the stipulated areas.

"Most of the hawkers applied for the Permit Meja or Table Permit. For the first 10 tables, they have to pay RM30. During our Ops Saman, no such offence was committed."

Azmi says the council is looking at turning Jalan Wangsa 2/6 into a one-way street if the traffic problem persists.
