DBKL's pedestrian bridge hits snag, third tender to be called
Aug 21, 10 8:15pm
The third tender for the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Sungai Besi Highway will be opened on Monday.

Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Ministry secretary-general Ahmad Phesal Talib said the tender would be opened by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

With the opening of the tender for the third time, the project which will be using the design and build method, is expected to take off the ground on Sept 27, he said in a statement today.

He said the project hit a snag when the first constructor appointed was facing problems while no contractors were found to be suitable when the second tender was opened.

The construction of the pedestrian bridge will solve urgent needs of the public and students to cross the highway to get to work and schools, he added.

Ahmad Phesal hoped the people, especially residents of PPR Raya Permai and Permai Apartment would appreciate the efforts taken by the ministry and the DBKL to expedite the project and give their cooperation to make the project a success.
