Performance First, People our Priority? My foot!

I wonder why is it that highways constructed by the Public Works Department (JKR) are so substandard that a hole like this can appear, and nothing being done to immediately resurface it even though the MRR 2 is a highway where vehicles are speeding. Such holes would never have appeared in some countries with tall skyscrapers like our fabulous Twin Towers.

Any unsuspecting motorcyclists could have hit the hole, fallen and be hit by an oncoming lorry. Does our civil servants at JKR not carry out audits on its own highways, the way the private sector can maintain hundreds of kilometres of tolled highways?

Or, are we saying that, since there is no money in such a highway, there is no incentive to do a proper job?

I think we should ask our Prime Minister, who kept shouting, "Performance First, and the People our Priority."
