Illegal loan sharks and pimps are getting more creative in advertising their services, while our authorities are still scratching their heads how to battle with illegal advertising.
It baffles me to think why the authorities are unable to clamp down on the vice activities in this country. Mobile numbers are all printed on buntings, stickers and even spray painted on all kinds of walls.
There is a 1Stop Massage. Apparently, it took the cue from Najib's 1Malaysia. Everything seems to go by 1this and 1that. Now, I see a 2Stop Massage every where. And, yes, even Happy Massage. If you make a call to these people, you will find that they are not just providing massage services. They have girls they can send to the comfort of your hotel rooms.
It's spray painted all over the city of Kuala Lumpur, on flyovers, and on the walls of a lot of other public and private buildings. Bravo! Kuala Lumpur is now the city, where prostitution is openly advertised. Any tourist visiting the city cannot complain now that they are not getting what Bangkok can offer them.
Where are the authorities? This is one thing I am wondering.

When tipped off about a deputy minister's activities, instead of thanking the informant for the tip-off and start the criminal investigation into the accused right away, or wait for the informant to consult his lawyer before providing the evidence, the IGP was more interested in casting doubts on the informant's credibility. (Read the entire Malaysiakini's article below and if you want the latest credible news, take my suggestion to subscribe to the online news).
Let me suggest to the authorities what they can together put their heads to do,
(1) Set up traps. Contact these people and have them send the girls. Make the ambush.
(2) With the help of Telcos, set up a dialer mechanism to dial the numbers of these illegal advertisers. Let the dialer mechanism call the advertisers at very odd hours, or make repeat calls every five minutes. The agitation is enough to make sure that they would not use this method of advertising.
(3) Have their phone numbers terminated, if they continue to defy the "stick no bills" order.
(d) For every bunting or sticker removed by the local council staff, work out a penalty sum for the offenders.
Simple, yet our authorities do not seem to have the political will to implement. Why?

IGP upset with PKR's Arjunan
Inspector-general of police Musa Hassan today expressed disappointment over the reluctance of a politician to extend the desired cooperation to the police over an allegation of immoral activities against a deputy minister.
He said the attitude of MS Arjunan of PKR would only delay any investigation of the allegation.
Arjunan had lodged a police report claiming that Deputy Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister M Saravanan was involved in supplying college girls to prominent people for sex.
"He has come to give a statement but did not extend the desired cooperation," Musa (right) told reporters when asked to comment on Arjunan's claim that he had sound evidence.
Arjunan had given a statement at the Negeri Sembilan police headquarters. Saravanan, who is also MIC vice-president, has denied the allegation, saying it was an attempt to ruin his political career.
Arjunan said yesterday that he had the evidence but would give it to his lawyer.Musa said Arjunan should know that the evidence was necessary for the investigation.
"If he wants his lawyer to have it, then the lawyer should carry out the investigation," he said, adding that the police could only ask Saravanan (right) to make a statement if there was strong evidence in support of the allegation.

"We want to know the dates, when the alleged incidents took place, who the victims are. If there is no victim, how are we to investigate?" he told reporters after awarding a promotion for bravery and extraordinary efficiency in the line of duty to Lance Corporal Hosin Senawi who arrested a wanted criminal with a record of 12 crimes and seized two pistols in Jalan SP/26, Serdang Perdana, Seri Kembangan, on June 28.
Hosin, 29, who is now acting corporal, is a member of the hot spot team set up under the National Key Result Area at the Bukit Puchong police station.- Bernama
